It looks like some celebrities need to be aware of what they wear, because they can face serious backlash.
Rihanna recently uploaded a picture, wearing the Hindu god Ganesha, topless. With this outfit, the “Umbrella” singer rocked Savage X Fenty men’s shorts and crystal pendant earrings. The singer captioned the Instagram post stating:
Even though the mogul looked fantastic, many of her fans called her out on Twitter.
Ganesha is an elephant headed Hindu god of beginnings. Ganesha is the remover of all obstacles, and she is highly praised in Indian culture.
In 2020, Rihanna faced backlash for playing an Islamic verse at her Savage X Fenty show. The muslim community did not appreciate this, and this caused Rihanna to apologize.
“I’d like to thank the Muslim community for pointing out a huge oversight that was unintentionally offensive in our savage x fenty show, the singer posted on her Instagram story. I would more importantly like to apologize to you for this honest, yet careless mistake. We understand that we have hurt many of our Muslim brothers and sisters, and I’m incredibly disheartened by this! I do not play with any kind of disrespect toward God or any religion and therefore the use of the song in our project was completely irresponsible!”
