iCarly is a beloved show apart of millions of 2000’s kids childhood. Since the new decade has started, Hollywood and streaming services has been pivoting off of nostalgia.
Many iCarly fans have requested a reboot for the series ever since its 2012 ending. According to Nickelodeon, the reboot will take an unexpected turn for the reboot. The revived iCarly will focus on Carly and her friends lifestyle in their twenties. Fans will get to watch Carly’s balance love, work, and maybe even social media in Los Angeles.
The most shocking fact about the show is that Freddie, portrayed by Nathan Kress, will be a stepdad. The memories of Freddy being in love with Carly makes this even funnier.
The cast will include the return of Carly(Miranda Cosgrove), Freddie(Nathan Kress), and Spencer(Jerry Trainor). According to rumors, Spencer is now rich thanks to his inventions. The reboot will also include Freddie’s stepdaughter(Jaidyn Triplett), and Carly’s roommate(Laci Mosley).
Beloved characters Sam(Jennette McCurdy) and Gibby(Noah Munck) will not reprise their roles on the reboot. According to McCurdy, she struggled with her own identity while being Sam. Jennette McCurdy portrayed the role of Sam form 2007 to 2014, and she was unhappy. On her podcast, “Empty Inside”, she talked about the loss of her mom resulting in quitting acting. Jennette McCurdy’s mom was the one who pushed her into Hollywood, and it took a toll on her after losing her mother.
“Walking away was really difficult, but it was something that I needed for my mental health.”
Noah Munck continued to work with Nickelodeon, but he still acts ever since his departure with the network. Munck has made over several appearances in the ABC hit TV show, The Goldbergs.
