Lebron James is the GOAT on and off the court. Lebron James opened up the I Promise School in his hometown Akron, Ohio. James is going to open traditional houses for students and their families who are at risk.
The I Promise School opened in 2018 with 343 students in grades third through fifth. The I Promise School also offers parental resources, food, clothing, legal aid, medical care, and so much more.
Some students that attend the I Promise School is homeless and live in shelters. The executive director of Lebron James charity foundation, Michele Campbell, stated, “Some are homeless, some live in shelters and we have a student who was the victim of a gun invasion in their home and watched his brother get shot and a cousin get shot and die and he had to go back in that home.”
Lebron James can relate to his students with their living situations. James missed 83 days of school in the past, because he did not have a stable living situation.
