You can truly say that Walt Disney left a lifelong legacy behind with his creative ideas, including Disney World and Disney Land.
Even though Disney Land will not open back up until later this year, Disney World is open and ready for fun. At first, a lot of people had unsettled thoughts about traveling to Disney World due to Covid-19. I can honestly say I was one of those people. I constantly saw videos on social media, mostly Tiktok, portraying Disney World’s safety precautions to slow down the spread of Covid-19.
I recently travelled to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom this week truly not knowing what to expect.
When you first arrive to the park of your choice, it is mandatory to go through security and have your fever checked. Due to a high fever being a possible symptom of Covid-19, Disney’s precautionary actions make you feel safe from the start.
As you guys know, it is mandatory to wear face masks in the park at all times. You are allowed to eat and drink a beverage in the park, but you have to be sitting down at a dining area. In addition, if you are walking and want to drink water, you must stop to drink it and not continue to walk until finished. Disney World’s staff was strict on enforcing visitors to wear masks over their nose and mouth. I got the chance to talk to a Disney World employee about her thoughts. “I would rather save lives than people not be safe.” This truly made me feel safe and protected, even with a global pandemic occurring.
Even though it was extremely hot to wear a mask for hours, Disney World’s staff truly kept everyone safe to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Second, I appreciated the entertainment park keeping everyone socially distant six feet at all time. Even if you are standing in line to get on a ride at Animal Kingdom, waiting to purchase food, or even going to the bathroom, everyone was 2 arms lengths apart.
Lastly, Disney World had hand washing stations and hand sanitizers available in every corner of the park.
Even though we all may have a different experiences at Disney World during this pandemic, I truly believe that you can still have fun with your family in a safe and fun way.
