Final test are near for students in America. Finals is a good sign that shows that the end of the school year is near. The end of the school year is summer. Summer means more sunshine and no studying. On the other hand, finals is the stage of stressing for all students. What are finals you may ask? Finals is a test given to the students at the end of the year. Finals measure how much students have learned over the course of the school year. I have seen students pass finals because they used amazing study tips. I have also seen student who procrastinate and fail finals, which is not good. I will share some useful tips that I have learned, while studying for finals during high school
1.) Do not procrastinate
Procrastinating to study for finals is the worse thing you can do. It is so bad like getting your brand new white shows dirty, #thestruggleisreal. Studying for finals a week or two before your final test is amazing. This gives time for you to process everything you have studied to retain in your brain. Studying last minute causes stress, which is not good for students. According to ULife Line, “Emotional stress that stays around for weeks or months can weaken the immune system and cause high blood pressure, fatigue, depression, anxiety and even heart disease.”
2.) Study with friends
Studying with friends for finals can be super fun. Lets face it, students will rather study finals with their friends oppose to their teachers. Studying with friends means super fun ways to learn. For example, you can make up songs to study. Making up songs is super easy and a fun way to remember a lesson you have learned over the school year.
3.) Make flashcards
Studying for finals with flash cards is also very important. Flash cards is the main tool that I use to study for finals. Studying for finals is way easier oppose to studying off a single paper. Flash cards retain knowledge for all students. Also, flash cards can be reused anytime and enhance active recall.
4.) Take breaks
It is very important for students to take breaks while studying for finals. It is not possible for students to remember and comprehend information all at once. Why do you think people take breaks during their job?
5.) Write with bright colors
Writing with bright colors can “wake up” your brain. Also, writing with bright and fun colors can be fun. You can always switch it up by using pink, black, blue, purple, and orange pens. Lastly, did you know writing with blue pens helps you retain your memory while studying ?
