Jay Park is one of Korea’s biggest musical acts, but his intolerable actions are finally coming to light.
In one of Jay Park’s recent songs, his lyrics caused controversy on social media.
“Worship me like Allah
Get it done like Wallah
Season it like Salt Bae
Sauce dripping off them bows” – Genius.
After downplaying the significance of Allah in the Muslim community, thousands of fans called him out on social media. The Korean rapper later apologized in a very questionable manner. “In a song called “muk bang” remix. I used a line “worship me like Allah” which a lot of people took offense to. At first I didn’t see the problem but as I read the comments( not the hateful ones but the ones who are actually trying to educate on why its offensive) I see that I used a word some are willing to die behind in my lyrics.”
The 34 year old rapper has been accused of cultural appropriation in the past, but his insensitive comments towards the Muslim community finally woke him up. After Jay Park’s apology on Twiitter, many fans did not accept his apology. He concluded his apology on Twitter by stating, “I see where y’all comin from now.”
