The Class of 2020 was very affected by Covid-19. Millions of students in America could not celebrate their achievements that they worked so hard for. Imagine spending four years working your butt off, that consists of sweat and tears, to not get the proper celebration you dreamed about. Many high school seniors are not going to be able to tell their future kids about their graduation because it was taken away from them in an instant.
For high school seniors, including myself, the joy of having a prom and other memorable senior events went out the door. Many seniors I know spent hundreds to thousands of dollars on a prom dress that they could not even wear to make history in their own chapter. In addition, many student athletes could not play their last season as high school seniors. Many sport scholarships and the chance of getting recruited for college sports was ruined for a handful of athletes.
During quarantine, schedules were changed for high school students drastically. Zoom calls and online testing became the new normal. Many students started to play video games and spend way more time on social media instead of finishing their school work.
We also can not forget about college seniors who spent thousands of dollars on education. Students in college could not even walk across the stage and receive their degree that will lead them into their next chapter of adulthood.
Even though the class of 2020 was very saddened to not celebrate their achievements, this was forever be the most memorable graduating class EVER. That is why I decided to present the Pink Graduation.
Pink is such a powerful color for boys and girls all around the world. Pink represents universal love, peace, and harmony. I had my senior year ruined due to Covid-19, but that was not going to let me stop celebrating my achievements with the class of 2020.
The Pink Graduation was a digital event, that took place June 25th, to honor the historic students of 2020. The Pink Graduation was presented by Walter Jones and featured special guests including Tiara Thomas, Noel from iHeart Media, and H.E.R.
Hearing all three women being passionate about wanting to inspire every student watching the live was truly amazing. Each guest shared their personal experience about being in the entertainment industry and the changes they had to experience that made them the person they are today.
H.E.R., Noel, and Tiara Thomas are three powerful women in the music industry, and having them apart of the Pink Graduation was an historic moment.
The Pink Graduation was took place and was sponsored by the amazing Courtyard by Marriott. The other brands apart of the Pink Graduation included I Birth Legends, Absolute New York, Boy Meets Girl, Stroller Gang, and LaPar.
